I kind of like the ideal of little to no government, but I don't trust private groups, especially Christian, private groups to provide the welfare to the nation. If Christians have proved anything, it's their unquestioning belief that because they call themselves "Christians" everything they do is therefore "Christlike" even if that is the continued downtrodding of the downtrodden.
And I definitely don't trust unbridled Capitalism, Insurance Companies or the Healthcare system, so that ideal will have to stay just that - an ideal. Government may be "too big" but it's got to be to keep those horses under control!

I saw this guy on Fox a couple of weeks back and he's basically a complete arse. He said something to the effect of: he hates liberals because they want to destroy America. What utter rubbish.
Conservatism could be taken way more seriously if they would drop the stupid "Liberals are out to destroy America bullshit." It's like gore in zombie movies - rather unnecessary but it's what the lowest common denominators want to see.
