Hero: Ft. Worth, TX, Councilman Joel Burns
Thank you, Queerty
I couldn't watch the whole thing. The rash of suicides has been really upsetting me, and I've been drinking about a half pint of bourbon a day (or vodka) simply to be okay enough to get through these dark days - and with the continued discussion of DADT and DOMA and the crushed hopes I'd had for the Obama Administration.
And it makes me so angry that on YouTube for one of the suggested videos that goes with Joel Burns' speech is a video entitled "Joel Burns is Tired." Sometimes, I wish there was a Gay Avenger like in Queer As Folk and he could make all the homophones feel what it feels like to be LGBTQQA in this day and age. Or, how it feels to be standing at the edge of a chair, a noose around your neck, or at the edge of the GW bridge with the water rushing beneath you!

You seem very passionate my friend...it will be people like you taking that passion and using it in public forums that will eventually change things for the better.
chin up ;)
We'll make it better JP. It will take a long while and many more of us won't make it, but I honestly believe we'll get there.
Thank you, David, but I'm afraid I get too emotional and somewhat awkward in public.
What is the MLK quote, Kyle?
Actually, I just looked it up...maybe MLK did say it but the quote is contributed to Abolitionist Theodore Parker (circa 1850):
The arc of the moral universe is long, But it bends toward justice.
