A Statement About Guest Posts

This past week I had someone email me to ask if I accept guest posts. As a concept, I was interested, and also somewhat flattered that someone would want to be a part of this blog in that way - they would be, as it were, inserting themselves into the stream of my blog - which sounds kind of sexual and cool.

I asked them what would you write about and eventually I received in my email a short post about movies entitled "Movies That Have Something Different" followed by 5 movies that honestly DIDN'T have anything different. They were mainstream movies that almost everyone and their grandmothers have seen: Titanic, Bring It On, Romeo Must Die, Desperado, and The Sweetest Thing.

And tacked along with this post was the link to another blog in which the potential post's author discussed LED TVs. So, I ended up feeling that I had been handed a post by someone who had no clue what my blog was about and who simply wanted some traffic sent over his way.

So, I'm more than happy to accept guest posts. But if you read my blog, you know what I'm about. I make it pretty clear, I think, what my interests are and my politics. If you want to write a book review, cool. If you want me to post a pic, cool. If you want to send me a list of movies that have something different, cool, but please make sure they are actually different. And if you send me a post of Titanic, Bring It On, Romeo Must Die, Desperado and The Sweetest Thing, PLEASE, show me that THEY ARE INDEED DIFFERENT.

(As I replied to this would-be guest poster, James Cameron's Avatar is way MORE different than his Titanic!)

But I'm pretty much open to anything: hot pic of a twink being dp'd, cool. Recipe for your favorite meal, cool. Link to some new tech mumbo jumbo that I don't get but seems interesting, cool. I'm happy to accept anything that seems to add to the blog. But if what you send is as dull as dishwater, don't worry...I will tell you.
