Momma's Backyard

A deer eating crab apples in my Mom's backyard. Soon after I took these, the doe or another doe came through with a white-spotted fawn.

This is new to me. As a kid, we never had deer in the bottoms below the house. Though we did have flooding.

Deer are regulars here on the ranch... so are rabbits, raccoons, snakes... it's like a zoo!!! Thanks for sharing!!!

You should add a salt lick if you want deer.

How beautiful. When we lived in rural Connecticut we awoke one morning to see three large deer and a fawn coming out of our woods into our backyard. We were elated. Then we saw them walk around the house and begin munch on the shrubs. Oh well...

becca, I've decided - if I get to decide such things - that sitting in my Mom's porch swing that overlooks the backyard is my Heaven. :)

MAC, I see rabbits, raccoons, and possums in the big city of Lexington. Here in the country we see hawks, deer, snakes and the occasional alligator snapping turtle.

Tim, they come down to eat grass and the apples I imagine. And Daddy says they travel up and down the train tracks.
