Google Friend Connect and Managing Your Reading List

http://www.google.com/friendconnect/user/overview?authuser=0

Have you been unable to manage your Blogger Reading List (the list of blogs that you follow in your Blogger Dashboard or your Google Reader) for months on end? You click on the little Cog that says Manage Reading List and you either get an error message or more likely a message that your Friend Connect something another can't be opened?

Well, that is because Blogger/Google got rid of Friend Connect. It no longer exists. But if you click on the above link (or copy and paste it into the address bar), you will be taken to your Reading List and have the option to view the blogs you follow and by clicking on the Settings link actually manage said list.

I've spent the last two hours going through all my blogs and was able to unfollow blogs that no longer exist or haven't posted in several months or just didn't interest me anymore. Woot!

Enjoy.

Oh wow, thank you for this. I have been pissed off at Blogger for awhile now, and managed to unfollow some of the non-active blogs by going to the site directly. But those that do not exist anymore I could not even access. My list just got a nice clean-up.

Hope you are well otherwise... :)

That's part of the reason I just keep a bookmark list, and actually it's funny that you bring this up. I need to find a more efficient way to follow my blogs, but well, I'll be damned if I know how to do it....

I am good, Chris, and I'm glad I could help. How are things for you in the States?

Tamayn, have you checked out Google Reader? It is www.google.com/reader. And you can subscribe to any sort of blog thing - mine is half blogger blog and half tumblr - then they are put in order of posting. Mine's become rather porn heavy as of late, but that typically happens to me during the colder months.

If you subscribe via the Reader you don't have to put up with not being able to unfollow a blog once it goes dead. :)

I'm not in the States anymore but back home now, working on the PhD and paying my dues to my government - and yours. I'm not allowed to apply for a job or immigration in the U.S. until July 2013. Until then, "sublimation" is my mantra :))) Glad to hear you are doing well. Like the new profile picture too :)
