The Happiest Thing I've Seen All Day

As a major proponent of wearing pink as much as humanly possibly, I concur: ninjas wear pink all the time.

But, of course, this being the United States where we fear all things feminine and effeminate, this very happy, little boy has sparked a viral debate.

Just remember, Sam, when the bastards get you down, these shoes were made for walking...

I would love for Sam to have been born in a world where he doesn't have to worry about the fact of wearing whatever he wants. Unfortunately we're not there yet. I hope he remembers this experience when he's older and uses it to make the world a better place for the next generation.

Tamayn, I worry that he will be "punished" for his pink shoes and at worse he will take the step that so many bullied youth have been taking lately. At worse, he will isolate himself and strike out at those he learns to see as different. Different here being read as "wrong."

Another thing the US does not do - and possibly the world in general - we do not tend to raise strong children. We raise children who culminate the fear of their parents. :(

Sam's pic is the best ever JP. You can't help but feel his happiness! It sounds like sam has many people around him protecting him and supporting him, so despite the haters, I think he'll be fine.

Kyle, he better be...or I'm gonna take off my pink shoe and beat somebody upside the head with it...ninja style! ;)
