Fairness Comes to Berea
Boone Tavern and downtown Berea
I'm surprised this hasn't happened sooner. Berea College is known for a large gay community, or at least, it used to. We in Lexington used to joke that it must be something in the water, because if you weren't already gay before going to Berea College, you would be soon.
Via Fairness Coalition:
The City Council of Berea is holding a public forum regarding the formation of the Berea City Human Rights Commission and updating an ordinance to include sexual orientation & gender identity protections against discrimination in employment, housing, and public accommodations.
With this update, Berea can join Louisville, Covington and Lexington in the adoption of a fairness ordinance, protecting the LGBT community from discrimination.
Please join your fairness-minded friends in attending the Berea City Council meeting tonight, Tuesday, May 10th at 6:30 p.m. on the 1st floor of the Police and Municipal Building at 304 Chestnut Street. Public comments will be heard by the council during this meeting: let your voice be heard.
